Awesome Tips For Aerial Photography

Flying a drone is easy peasy, even kids can do that in no effort. However, aerial photography is not just simply flying a drone. If you want to take high-quality footages, you gotta learn some critical tips. In this blog, we will share some helpful tips for aerial photography beginners.

Cloud does not ruin the perfect weather

Weather can add intrigue, energy, and a fleeting sense of time to a photograph. Light interacts with clouds and rain, creating dynamic textures, shapes, and momentary bursts of color.

While it can be tempting to wait for a clear, blue-sky day to fly, also consider a day with clouds in the forecast.

Shoot in RAW brings more possibilities

Almost every single professional photographer will tell you that the best way to shoot is in RAW format. They always shoot in RAW in order to be able to correct any flaws in exposure or color with greater precision. This is even  more  applicable to drones.

Both EVO Nano series and EVO Lite series supports shooting RAW format photos.

Camera settings are vital

Camera settings are as important as composition. Most of today’s drones have an adjustable aperture and shutter speed with variable ISO values. During the daytime, lighting shouldn’t be a problem, so you can stick to the lowest possible ISO. This means you’ll have to manually adjust your camera settings to keep your images properly exposed.

When shooting in windy or shady places, consider opening up your aperture or using a slower shutter speed. It will let in more light and maintain the lowest ISO for clean, sharp images.
The best settings for aerial photos depend on the lighting conditions and where you’re located.

Shutter speed is really important

Find the right shutter speed for your aerial captures. A camera drone is a moving object and due to that, many more considerations come with it.

Fast shutter speeds would be ideal in most scenarios but do not shy away from going slower especially if you want to capture creative, blurry images.

Newer drones with powerful gimbals open up new possibilities when it comes to slowing down your shutter speeds.
